If Rashard Davis could describe himself in one word, it would be “different.”. Different in the sense of having an open mind and being willing to try new things, the 22-year-old Joppatowne native said. Different is the concept of Strange Flavors, the weekly podcast Davis is a member of. You’d think the podcast is about food, but that’s not the case.
Man found dead in single-car crash on Pulaski Highway
A 40-year-old man was pronounced dead from a single-car crash near the intersection of Batavia Farm Road and Pulaski Highway in Rosedale on April 17, police said. The driver has been identified as Wayne Alan Thompson of the 1200 block of Neighbors Avenue of Rosedale. Thompson was driving a 2005 Ford Excursion when the vehicle left the road on Pulaski Highway at about 6.am., police said.
Police ask public for help in case of missing Baltimore woman
Baltimore County police are asking for the public’s help in find a 28-year-old woman. Ebony Charee Johnson, was seen last around St. Agnes Lane in Baltimore on April 2, police said. Johnson is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds. Johnson was seen last wearing grey sweatpants and a black windbreaker, police said.
Teacher charged with the sexual abuse of a student
A 35-year-old teacher at Northwest Academy of Health Sciences has been charged with sexual abuse of a 13-year-old female student, police said. Chadwick Zamarron was charged with sexual abuse of a minor, perverted practice, second- and third- degree sexual offense and sex abuse by a person of authority, police said.
Police search for missing Pikesville man
Baltimore County Police are searching for a missing Pikesville man. Marshall Louis Levin, 72, was last seen April 20 at 10 a.m. leaving his home in the 2900 block of Marnat Road for an unknown reason, police said. Levin has a medical condition that causes him to become confused or disoriented, police said.
Light City festival hopes to attract 400,000 people
An estimated 400,000 people or more are expected to visit the Inner Harbor over the next few days to participate in the second annual Light City, a 1.5-mile long festival of lights, music, and food that will run until Saturday, organizers said. There are 58 attractions, including 22 food and drink vendors, 23 light art displays, 50 concerts, and 125 illuminated performances.
Baltimore marches in unity for International Women’s Day
More than 100 demonstrators gathered in Baltimore Wednesday afternoon to march in solidarity for women’s rights and equality in honor of International Women’s Day. Demonstrators walked over four miles from the People’s Park to the Inner Harbor making sure to have the Baltimore City Women’s Detention Center and the Baltimore City Hall en route.
Parents complain to board about overcrowded schools
An estimated 15 residents of Baltimore County complained about overcrowding in several schools and they urged the Board of Education to fix the problem soon. The residents told the board during its Feb. 21 meeting that overcrowding has been a problem at Perry Hall Middle and High School and Dulaney High School for at least 20 years.
